B Leader bio

Since completing the B Leaders training in 2017, I have been in a variety of environmental positions. Earlier this year, I joined Spherics as their Chief Engagement Officer on a part time basis, allowing me time to offer B Leader support to businesses alongside this. Spherics is an award winning carbon accounting software company helping businesses measure and reduce their carbon emissions, in minutes, from as little as £9 p/m. We submitted our B Corp application in June.

Additional organisations I am currently involved in include: SHE Changes Climate (Partnerships), Avon Wildlife Trust (Trustee), Catalyse Change (Mentor) and Following the Footprints (Advisor).

Prior to joining Spherics, I was Chief Executive of City to Sea, an award-winning not-for-profit organisation, campaigning to stop plastic pollution at source. I have spoken publicly about the benefits of a circular economy and the pitfalls of single-use packaging. I used the B Corp accreditation process to help define our ESG principles at City to Sea, but as a non-profit was unable to certify. In 2021, City to Sea was listed in the Escape the City 'Top 100 Employers'.

In 2020, I was listed in Management Today's 35 Women Under 35 list, the country's longest-running, most prestigious list of young, female business talent. In 2019 I was listed in the WISE100, recognising the most inspiring and influential women in social enterprise, impact investment and mission-driven business.

Prior to City to Sea, I worked at environmental consultancy Eunomia. It was through working with the European Commission on their now passed Single-Use Plastics Directive, that I felt inspired to do more in the fight against climate catastrophe.

I moved to Bristol in 2016, after 10 years shaping sector leading social programmes with a variety of companies and not-for-profits in London. Projects include: implementing a vulnerable customers programme with Macmillan Cancer Support and Nationwide Building Society; launching an Energy Advice Team on the Macmillan Support Line in collaboration with npower; overseeing sponsorship deals with Sheilas' Wheels, Nationwide and npower; running employee engagement days for numerous large companies in relation to Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning; and leading on a Christmas appeal to businesses whilst at Shelter.

Over the years, my teams and I have won a number of industry awards including: Edie Sustainability Leaders Award, Global Good Award, BusinessGreen Award, Corporate Engagement Award, Utility Week Award, Better Society Award, Business in the Community ‘Big Tick’ Award and Business Charity Award.
